Stewarding Supervisor
Summary : The Stewarding Supervisor's primary responsability is to maintain a sanitary environment for food and beverage preparation and storage as well as provide clean service ware and utensils for the entire food and beverage operation while reducing the hotel carbon footprint.
Essential Job Functions
- Understands the importance of and adheres to 4 Star/4 Diamond/Preferred service standards
- Understands operation of dish machine and is able to check salt level and change water every 2 hours during kitchen operations to ensure dish machine is clean.
- Assists in hiring, training and scheduling the stewarding staff.
- Ensures cleanliness of kitchen, back hallways, VIP cafeteria and loading dock.
- Assists with receiving and putting away deliveries
- Requisitions chemicals and cleaning supplies as needed
- Manage the flow of recyclable and compostable waste and seek ways to improve our sustainable processes.
- Serve as a critical point of contact in the dock placing all trash items in corresponding containers to maximize our recycling efforts. Maintain the dock area, keeping it clean, safe and organized.
- Work with each department to insure understanding of procedures and goals.
- Educate other staff through constructive feedback on how to properly dispose of all trash.
- Follows St Julien’s Environmental Commitment and empties compost, trash, and recycling into proper receptacles according to standards.
- Other duties as requested by supervisor.
