Social Catering Manager
Summary : The Social Catering Manager is responsible for promoting, selling, booking and coordinating various social events at the Hotel such as weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, graduation parties, birthday & anniversary parties, rehearsal dinners, non-profit events, and wedding and social room blocks through personal sales calls, leads and trade shows.
Essential Job Functions

- Sells and books social events, banquets, receptions and non-profit events.
- Maximizes profits and complies with catering standard operating procedures
- Communicate with other Hotel departments regarding the groups’ stay, such as function space, audio visual needs, rooming lists, billing procedures and outside activities.
- Plans and conducts site visits, pre-planning meetings with clients.
- Coordinates with meeting planners in order to produce successful events
- Communicates all pertinent information on group requirements within acceptable time frames to appropriate departments via event order, resumes, memos, etc.
- Checks all functions prior to start to ensure correct set-up, clean equipment, etc
- On Site for each event to ensure event success
- Knowledgeable about culinary techniques and food creativity, banquet set-ups, and creative room decorations
- Follows St Julien’s Environmental Commitment and disposes of waste and recycling according to standards.
- Other duties as requested by supervisor.
