Host
Summary: The Restaurant Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting guests, taking reservations, and seating guests in Jill’s.
Essential Job Functions
- Takes reservations correctly, with all information completed including phone numbers, name, and size of party.
- Uses eye contact and a smile to greet all guests; Uses guest last names during the conversation
- Alerts Manager and service personnel of special instructions (i.e. birthdays, anniversaries, etc.).
- Greets all guests and escort them to their tables.
- Informs server of new table and guest name.
- Helps control flow of restaurant by giving reasonable seating assignments and help servers when necessary.
- Maintains knowledge of the Open Table system.
- Performs callbacks, confirmations, and faxes in accordance with restaurant reservations.
- Prepares stations for the day, including keeping a menu par.
- Follows St Julien’s Environmental Commitment and disposes of waste and recycling according to standards.
- Other duties as requested by supervisor.
