Director of Catering and Conference Services

Summary : The Director’s primary responsibilities are: to oversee the management of the Catering and Conference Services Department, to promote, sell, book, and coordinate various corporate and social events at the Hotel such as meetings, banquets, and various events through personal sales calls, blitzes, and trade shows, and repeat business.  Goal is to generate new business, retain current business, and maximize revenue in every aspect of both Catering and Banquet Departments.

  • Assist the Catering Managers and CS Manager in generating the maximum financial performance of the Catering Department.
  • Sell and book both corporate and social events.
  • Maximize profits and comply with catering standard operating procedures.
  • Set and implement annual budget.
  • Responsible for training Catering Associates, supervise all Catering Associates to ensure Department runs efficiently.
  • Work collectively with the Executive Chef, Banquet Chef, and Banquet Manager to generate new yearly banquet menus.  Responsible for monitoring and updating any changes to banquet menus in Visual One, website, and hard copies.
  • Plan and conduct site visits, pre-planning meetings with clients.
  • Check functions prior to start to ensure correct set-up, clean equipment, etc.
  • Knowledgeable about culinary techniques and food creativity, banquet set-ups, and creative room decorations
  • Other duties as requested by AGM.

Minimum of 4 years related experience.
