Banquet Captain

The Banquet Captain is responsible for assisting in the operation and management of the Banquet Department, including supervising the banquet staff, ensuring that events run smoothly and on time, and providing professional and courteous service.

Essential Duties

  • Assists Banquet Manager in scheduling associates for shifts
  • Attends BEO meetings; understand how to read BEOs
  • Performs opening procedures; unlock and open all doors, turn on lights, ensure that hallway is clean, check BEOs, assign duties to banquet staff
  • Trains and supervise banquet staff on set up and execution of banquet functions
  • Ensures that guest is given excellent service during event; addresses conflicts with guests, vendors and Associates in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintains Hotel equipment and ensure that meeting spaces are kept in top condition; notifies the Director of Catering & Conference Services of any needs or major repairs.
  • Performs closing duties at end of shift – change reader boards, ensure hallway and store room are clean and orderly, lock doors to coolers and meeting space
  • Follows St Julien’s Environmental Commitment and disposes of waste and recycling according to standards.
  • Other duties as requested by supervisor.

Full Time

2 Years experience preferred

Prior supervisory experience preferred

Must have flexible availability (AM &PM, weekends, Holidays)
